Daniel Negreanu Coming Strong At WSOPE Main Event
Howard Lederer made a strong run through an earlier tournament at the World Series of Poker Europe. That did not help him much at the Main Event where he was ousted in the early stages of the tournament. He was joined by some other high profile pros on the rail.
Daniel Negreanu is not one of those players. Negreanu is reminding everyone in the tournament that there is still a strong professional presence. He is also trying to claim another bracelet.
So far, so good for Negreanu. He is among the leaders at the dinner break of today's action. Negreanu is in second position with 130,000 chips. Jamie Rosen is the leader with 135,000.
Jennifer Tilly is making a push to become a woman champion of the Main Event. She has 65,000 chips and although that is half of the chip leaders, it is still plenty to make a move with.
Phil Laak is also still alive at the tournament with 37,000 chips. A couple of other pros are holding on to their last few chips for dear life. Gavin Smith has 11,000 and Scotty Nguyen has 10,000 chips left.
