The World Series of Poker tried to do things a little bit different this year. Instead of playing straight through, they decided they would stop the Main Event when it reached the final table. They did that, and this week the Main Event was finally finished.

Peter Eastgate was just a twenty two year old from Denmark when the tournament began. Now, he is a twenty two year old from Denmark who is nine million dollars richer after winning the Main Event at the WSOP.

Eastgate became the youngest player to ever win the Main Event. he took the place of another player, someone by the name of Phil Hellmuth. He claims that was not his motivation, however.

"I wasn't thinking about the records or anything like that. I just was thinking about playing my game," said a jubilant Eastgate after the tournament had ended. He did admit that he met with Hellmuth the night before winning his title.

Ivan Demidov was the player that took home second place at the tournament. He took the chip lead early into the heads up match, but relinquished it soon after and never recovered again. He fared well in both the WSOP and WSOPE Main Events, making the final table at both.

Unlike in past years, anyone wishing to know how the final table was won can tune in to ESPN tonight. They will air the final table at 9:00 P.M., just one day after the tournament was complete.
